Background

Congresswoman Veronica Escobar represents El Paso and is one of the prominent voices in Congress on immigration and climate action. She also serves as one of the Co-Chairs of the DPCC, where she is responsible for crafting messaging for Democrats. Kinetic Strategies was brought on to grow Veronica’s online infrastructure, specifically by building an online fundraising apparatus from scratch.

Approach

Kinetic audited Veronica’s existing email list, strategically recommended email and mobile acquisitions, produced engaging, human-centered content, and used data and measurement tools to ensure list growth didn’t compromise deliverability. List management starts with smart content. That’s why we developed content that shared Veronica’s story and prioritized quality over quantity. We ran a program that was fun and substantive, not spammy. For instance, we offered to share Veronica’s iconic enchiladas recipe with donors in one email. To track performance of emails and acquisitions, we launched a beta version of our proprietary Data Dashboard. This tool is now available to all Kinetic clients and offers email, ads, and fundraising metrics in real-time. To have an effective online fundraising program, we believe analytics should be at your fingertips. Transparency fosters trust and accountability, which we view as essential ingredients in our partnerships.

Result

In a span of just 90 days after implementing our acquisition strategy and doubling the campaign’s email list, we achieved a 140% ROI. This was accomplished while maintaining high open and click rates and a strong domain reputation as indicated by Google Postmaster. Our texting program, powered by OneSwitchboard, returned a 530% ROI upon launch. With patience and a data informed approach, Congresswoman Escobar’s online fundraising program grew exponentially. By running a human-centered online program, we were able to cut through.
